WarningDate:2:57 PM CDT on May 19, 2010

WarningSum:...Flash Flood Watch Remains In Effect Through Thursday Evening...

Warning Message:The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* portions of Arkansas and Oklahoma...including the following
 areas...in Arkansas...Benton...Carroll...Crawford...Franklin...
 Madison...Sebastian and Washington. In Oklahoma...Adair...
 Cherokee...Craig...creek...Delaware...Haskell...Latimer...Le
 Flore...Mayes...McIntosh...Muskogee...Nowata...Okfuskee...

 Sequoyah...Tulsa...Wagoner and Washington.
* Through Thursday evening
* another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected across
the watch area later this evening through Thursday morning.
Heavy rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches will be common...
especially in areas southeast of Interstate 44 and north of U.S.
Highway 270. Locally higher amounts near 5 inches will be
possible within this area. Rainfall amounts to the north of I-44
may be less...however heavy rainfall this morning has left the
ground saturated and it will not take as much rain to cause
  local flooding problems.
* Flooding of low lying areas and small streams will be likely.
There will also be the potential for larger streams and even
  rivers to flood.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize
the dangers of flash floods. If flash flooding is observed...act
quickly. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when water
begins to rise. Motorists should not drive through water of
unknown depth. Take a different Route to reach your destination or
wait until the water recedes.
A Flash Flood Watch means rapidly rising water or flooding is
possible within the watch area.
If you are in the watch area...keep informed...and be ready for
quick action if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is
issued.
